Almost fifty businesses operate at 4801 Keele Street in North York It is a complex of three medium sized commercial buildings Some are Canadian head offices for small companies. Several are in the automotive field A few are in the medical profession Many are massage parlours

2013 News: Gentlemans Spa has opened at this plaza in unit 31 opposite Ivy Spa.
It is an upscale holistic spa featuring Liz, Sophie, Mya and Char from Steeles Royal. It has massage rooms on two floors.

4801 Keele is a rather dull strip mall in north west North York.
It is very near York University, just across Keele street where a strip club used to be.
Like many commercial plazas in the region, it is old, drab and hard to park by.

Massage parlour patrons have something to celebrate.
It now has Seven Massage Parlours and they are mostly Asian

Palladium Spa is also in the Keele and Steeles region. It is a very upscale parlour that is hard to find and thus discreet.

The parlours dont vary very much.
Most are Oriental, but Maple Spa which used to be on Steeles is a body rub.
Many students and professors from York University have visited the plaza

Seven massage parlours in one plaza does seem like a lot
However, a few blocks south at 1270 Finch there are 6 massage parlours including two bodyrubs Theses six MPs are in three address: 1270,1290 and 1310 Keele.
Maple Spa is located there and is a body rub parlour

One of the reasons that this region is popular is due to changes with police departments
32 Division is not as strict as it was a few years ago.

The area is reasonably free from crime. In late 2011, I found this story on the police blotter.
Robbery (Business) - 31 Divisions
A 42 year old female and a 38 year old female, employees of Ivy Spa, 4801 Keele Street reports that on May 14, 2011 at approximately 2300 hours, a male suspect entered the premises. The suspect engaged the victim in conversation then the suspect pepper sprayed the victims in the face and made a demand for cash. The victims did not comply. The suspect then fled the scene empty-handed in an unknown direction. The victims sustained minor injuries. Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described person in connection with this offence. Description of Suspect: Male, 5’10” to 5’11”, medium build, short black hair.
